To the Members of the Graduating Class of 2012:
2012 Graduation and Baccalaureate Information
All graduating seniors are expected to attend the 143rd Baccalaureate and Graduation ceremonies AND the rehearsal. We understand that extreme circumstances could prevent someone from attending. If you are unable to attend any of the Baccalaureate and Graduation ceremonies and/or the rehearsal, please let us know via email (graduation@blackburn.edu) by Monday, MARCH 26.
Important Dates:
Friday, May 11th at 10:00 a.m. sharp – The Senior Class will meet in Dawes Gymnasium for a rehearsal of Baccalaureate and Commencement. Please bring the Candidate’s Guide with you. (You will receive the Candidate’s Guide through the mail at the end of April.)
Friday, May 11th at 7:30 p.m. – Baccalaureate Service – Meet in Bothwell Conservatory, with cap and gown, in the hall on the classroom side of the building. Marching Time: 8:00 p.m.
Immediately following the Baccalaureate Service Friday evening, you, your friends, and the members of your family are invited to attend the President’s Reception. The reception will be held in the foyer of the Visual Arts Center and in the adjoining Whitaker sculpture garden.
Saturday, May 12th at 9:30 a.m. – 143rd Graduation Commencement – A complimentary breakfast will be available for graduates and family members starting at 8:30 a.m. in the dining hall. Meet on the second floor hall of Hudson Hall, in cap and gown. 10:00 a.m. – Meet on the second floor. Consult the newly posted Candidate’s Guide and form the two marching files. Graduation will be held on the Quad. (We will assemble in the hallway in Dawes Gymnasium if a persistent heavy rain develops.) Marching Time: 10:30 a.m. SHARP!
Caps and Gowns:
Herff-Jones Company will be taking cap and gown orders via their website.
DEADLINE: At 11:59 p.m., March 31, 2012, the site will close automatically.
