BCF (Blackburn Christian Fellowship)
A student organized worship group. It meets 2-3 times a week
for prayer, praise and worship, and bible study. Everyone is
welcomed to attend at least one gathering a week of
choice.

BOSA
The Board of Student Activities plans and coordinates most campus social
events. The group consists entirely of students who have the responsibility of budgeting, planning, and promoting activities. |

Burnian Newspaper
A monthly campus publication intended to inform the Blackburn community of news which pertain to them and voice student, faculty, and staff concerns. Recently revived, it is in the process of journalistic growth. The staff consists of writers, editors, photographers, and a campus employed communications technician.

Cheerleading
The Blackburn College cheerleading team is responsible for performing a combination of dance and stunt routines on the sidelines during home games. They also participate in various fundraising activities. Try-outs are held both in the fall and spring semesters. |
Common Ground
The Blackburn Common Ground is a gay, lesbian, bisexual, and
transgendered as well as heterosexual student organization. BCG
aims to foster a safe and supportive environment for all members
of the Blackburn Community regardless of sextual orientation.
Students, faculty, staff, and the Carlinville community are
welcome to participate in helping BCG create an atmosphere of
equality and acceptance.

Cultural Expressions
This is the multicultural awareness group on campus and it meets twice a month. They organize diversity discussions and forums and sponsor an annual two-day ethnic festival in the spring semester. Members fundraise to support their group and organize off-campus trips for students. |
FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes)
This is a non- denominational religious organization that meets once a week for laid-back bible study, prayer session, and games. The club members have an outing once every other week for group prayer and live Christian music at McKendree College. |

Habitat for Humanity
Blackburn College has its own chapter of Habitat for Humanity, which is affiliated with the Springfield chapter. Students volunteer their time to build homes in Springfield and surrounding areas. Anyone willing to help is welcomed to participate. |
House Councils
Comprised of resident students, each dorm has a committee that plans dorm events and discusses other issues that affect residents of their dorm. Everyone living in a particular dorm is welcomed to participate in House Council for that dorm. The executive board of the House Council is determined through resident ballots. |

Madrigals
A group of students and faculty organize and perform in Blackburn’s annual Madrigal dinner. These students and faculty members dress in medieval fashion and entertain as singers, musicians, and actors. Students also participate as wenches, dancers, and a jester. |
Newman
A student organized Catholic organization. It meets once a month for prayer and to discuss living Christian lives in modern day society and on a college campus. |
Student Senate
There is an annual election for students interested in running for
student government. The student participants, including one
representative from each residence hall, meet to discuss issues
important to the student body. Senate members are also represented
on most college committees, including Planning, Budget, Student
Life, Admissions, Arts and Issues, Athletics Committee, and
Curriculum and Academic Policy. For additional information, please
