Blackburn College Work Program representatives recently attended the annual Work College Consortium Conference at Ecclesia College in Springdale, Arkansas October 20th-22nd. This annual conference featured select student and staff participants from each of the seven nationally recognized work colleges.

Tim Erton, Ruthie Kahl, Nathan Kirby, Paul Kline, Brittany Phillips, and Roger Fenton joined other work college participants in discussions of this year’s theme, “Leaders and Ethics in the Workplace.” The group participated in team building activities and enjoyed connecting with students and staff members from other schools.

For most, one of the most rewarding parts of the conference was the group service project. The conference attendees volunteered with the Miracle League, an organization that gives mentally and physically disabled children the opportunity to play baseball.

The conference was deemed a success by all who attended. Brittany Phillips says, “the Work College Consortium Conference was an excellent opportunity to interact with students from other work colleges and share information about each of our schools and work programs.”
