Identify Potential Students
Send the names and addresses of prospective students to the admissions
office (800-233-3550).

Name and Claim
Name us and claim us—include your sincere reasons… Did Blackburn change your
life? Tell prospective college students and parents how: you had a great
professor mentor; you discovered your career calling; you met the love of
your life; you didn’t think you could afford college, but Blackburn made it
possible.

Plan Alumni Events
Help organize an alumni event in your area and recruit others to assist you.

Assist Careers Effort
Remember how it was when you were trying to get started? When asked, share
information about your career field with the Blackburn Career Office, or
with Blackburn students. Do you know
about job openings within your
organization? Pass the announcements on to our Career Office.

Recognize Others
Identify alumni who are deserving of honor and recognition by the College
and the Blackburn Alumni Association. The Alumni Board’s Awards Committee is
always on the lookout for candidates.

Introduce Prospective Donors
Identify major gift prospects (alum or non-alum) known to you. Coordinate
with the Development Office and participate in the cultivation and
solicitation process.

Keep Us Informed
Let us know when you hear about someone’s new job, baby, marriage, death,
etc. Send us address changes and news so we can send appropriate
correspondence and share information with your former classmates.

Serve on Alumni Board
Volunteer to be part of an alumni planning and decision-making group that
meets four times per year on the College campus.

Advise Alumni Board
Serve on the Alumni Association Advisory Board as a resource person for the
Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Help Assess Programs
Help Blackburn to assess and improve its programs by filling out and
returning questionnaires sent to alumni by the College.
