Athletics - Blackburn College Women's Soccer

Watt Receives Post Graduate Scholarship from SLIAC

Laura Watt is Blackburn College's first ever recipient of a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Post-Graduate Scholarship. Watt (Jerseyville, Ill./Jersey Community HS), was a defender for the Blackburn College Women's Soccer team. She graduated in May with a bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Pre-Medicine with a cumulative grade point average of 3.955. She has been involved in several community service projects including helping to raise money for Habitat for Humanity and the Macoupin County Animal Shelter, serving as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army and assisting with the Anti-Meth Coalition 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament.

The awards are chosen by the faculty athletic representatives at each SLIAC institution. The scholarships award a financial stipend for the first two years of graduate study.
