Founders Day Convocation

February 20          Presented by Karmak, Inc.

The Blackburn 175th anniversary celebration will kick-off with the Founders Day Convocation, February 20, at 10:00 a.m., in Bothwell Auditorium on the Blackburn campus.  Commermorate the start of a year-long celebration! Learn about our rich history and traditions and meet "Gideon Blackburn", our founder.

"Xanadu" Performance at the Hoogland

March 23-24       

Two performances of “Xanadu” will be held at the Hoogland Center for the Performing Arts in Springfield on March 23 and 24. An alumni reception will be held between the two performances on March 24 and will include an historical exhibit.  “Xanadu” will be performed at Blackburn in early April.

Summer Repertory Theater at Blackburn College

June 22-24, and June 29-July 1

The Summer Rep has been a Blackburn fixture since its founding in 1994, providing a creative outlet for Blackburn students, faculty, staff and, primarity, community and area actors and production workers. Take in a performance and experience the rich tradition of theater at Blackburn.

Blackburn Day at the Macoupin County Fair

July 16-21

Watch for the announcement of our special Blackburn celebration at the fair, held during the week of July 16-21.

Gideon Blackburn's 240th Birthday

August 27          Presented by CNB Bank & Trust

A gala celebration of Gideon Blackburn' s 240th birthday featuring a giant birthday cake and Gideon himself.

2012 Blackburn Homecoming

September 23 -30          Presented by Frontier Communications

A week-long, homecoming celebration begins with an open house for the Blackburn and Carlinville communities on Sunday, September 23.  Activities on campus will continue for the week, culminating with the Homecoming events of Friday-Sunday, September 28, 29, and 30.

Science Wall of Honor

November 2          Presented by Cynmar Corporation

Blackburn will celebrate its excellence in science with a “Wall of Honor” induction ceremony for the inaugural class of distinguished science alumni and outstanding faculty to be honored with this new, special recognition.
