• The Blackburn College Office of Career Services will provide
transportation to Career Fairs if there is sufficient interest.
Those interested should sign up with Career Services at least one
week prior to the Career Fair. Students may also drive themselves.

February 28, 2008, 11:20 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., “Landing your
Dream Job – A Workshop for All Job Seekers”
An all campus career conference open to anyone who hopes someday to land
their dream job.
From 11:20 – 12:20 award winning speaker, author and poet ZaLonya
Allen, Ph.D will present an action packed session in which students
will learn proven job search strategies that are not taught in the
classroom including what it takes to land a dream job in the least
amount of time possible, and you don’t have to be a straight A
student to do it.
Participants will learn steps from A-Z about how Dr. Allen helped
students transition from student to employee in as little as 30 days
of graduation. Students
will also learn which job skills employers are really looking for,
what employers view as the most common mistakes students make during
their job search, who’s hiring and who’s not, the best companies to
work for, which careers are in deman, and future job market trends.
Additionally there will be sessions on interview skills,
resume writing, techniques for conducting a job search and other
topics related o conducting a job search.
The workshop is open to all students regardless of your in
college or major.
