Choosing a Major?

How to Receive a Transcript Meet the Staff

Blackburn College processes applicants on a rolling admissions plan, considering applicants based on at least six semesters of high school work. Admissions decisions are based on:

  • a completed Blackburn College application
  • the applicant's high school transcript, ACT or SAT test scores

The applicant must submit an official copy of his or her high school transcript with the completed application form. To complete the application form, the applicant must submit to the College their results from either the SAT or ACT test programs. Blackburn College urges all applicants to take these tests as early as possible in their junior year of high school. Information regarding these tests may be obtained from high school guidance counselors or from the Office of Admissions at Blackburn College.

When the Office of Admissions receives the applicant's necessary credentials, the Blackburn College Committee on Admissions will consider the application. Normally, the applicant will be notified of the Committee's decision within two week's time. Generally, the successful applicant should have at least a B average in high school, and graduate in the upper half of his or her class. ACT and/or SAT test records should indicate an above average aptitude in academic areas. The Committee reserves the right to delay its final decision until it has received the applicant's seventh-semester high school transcript. Blackburn College advises all potential applicants to apply by the end of the first semester of their senior year in high school.
