Dr. Jan Zimmerman is currently professor of History and Chair
of the History Department at Blackburn College. She earned her Ph.D. in
1982 from Northwestern and has been a valued member of the Blackburn
community since 1985. Her teaching interests include American Social,
Cultural, and Intellectual History as well as Twentieth Century U.S.
History. She holds memberships to the Mother Jones Foundation and the
Eugene V. Debs Foundation and attends their yearly functions. She also
is one of the founding members of Blackburn College’s Labor Studies
Center. Dr. Zimmerman’s course HI 360 – “History of American Work and
Workers” assists students in their completion of Blackburn’s new Labor
Studies Minor. Dr. Zimmerman also hopes to begin internships in labor
history working at the new Labor History Museum in Mt. Olive, Illinois. |
