Blackburn’s mathematics major will help you become the mathematician of the future. You will receive solid grounding in the traditional foundation areas of mathematics. You will learn about current advances in and applications of mathematics, engage in your own research and learn to communicate mathematical ideas clearly and effectively. Through Blackburn’s Work Program, you may have an opportunity to instruct others in mathematics.
Instruction in abstract and applied mathematics emphasize problem-solving skills. Current ideas in mathematics are explored in a special senior seminar.
Career Opportunities
